Meanwhile, the director-general of the NCDC, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, has informed Nigerians that life won’t return to normal after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ihekweazu stated this while speaking on a radio programme in Lagos on Monday, April 20.
He said that a return to the pre-COVID lifestyle, once the current restrictions are relaxed, could bring about a high resurgence of the infection.
The NCDC boss also advised business owners to adjust their business model such that it is compliant to social distancing and reduces the level of interaction among people.
In another report, Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed the intention of his administration to review the lockdown of the state.
The governor made his plans known at the second virtual meeting with business owners in the state on Wednesday, April 15.
The governor assured them that “strategic relaxation of the lockdown may be implemented.”
The meeting was attended by 28 managing directors/CEOs of organised businesses and companies in Nigeria.
The state government’s team to the meeting was led by Sanwo-Olu and supported by the commissioner for finance, Dr Rabiu Olowo.
Sanwo-Olu also promised the CEOs that he would speak to the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, to address the issues of charges on cash deposits and cheque clearing, especially during the lockdown.
