Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi stated says Abba Kyari, the late chief of staff to the president, gave him tips that helped him deal with the COVID-19 medication.
Bala Mohammed had tested positive for the coronavirus but later recovered from the disease after testing negative twice.

The Bauchi state governor said the late chief of staff gave him the tips while they were both being treated for disease during isolation, Daily Trust reports.
“I had a telephone conversation with the late Mallam Abba who gave some tips while we were both in isolation which helped a great deal in my medication," he stated.
In his condolence letter addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari, the governor described Abba Kyari as an exceptionally good Nigerian.
“We in Bauchi State share with you the agony of the monumental tragedy and loss because he is to us a father, brother and in-law," the governor said.

Meanwhile, Bala Mohammed, on Saturday, April 11, recounted his experience at the isolation centre where he received treatment after testing positive for coronavirus.
Governor Mohammed told journalists at the government house that serving his stay and regaining full recovery from the pandemic were serious ordeals for him, The Cable reports.
The governor categorically said that he went through hell while in isolation for treatment.
"This disease that I was infected with is a terrible experience. I went through hell while in isolation for treatment, I felt like I was alone," he recalled:
However, the governor noted that things would have been worse for him if not for the love and constant prayers of well-meaning Nigerians at the time.
Bala went on to say that the gesture of love he received has further strengthened his resolve as governor to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
