Coronavirus: Enugu discharges last COVID-19 patient
- The two COVID-19 patients in Enugu state have been discharged after recovering from the disease

Enugu heaved a sigh of relief as the last COVID-19 patient in the state was discharged. The state is now free of any confirmed active case of the pandemic.
The second patient was discharged on Thursday night, April 16, while the first patient had been discharged since Wednesday night, April 15, after testing negative, Daily Trust reports.
Legit.ng gathers that the two confirmed cases in the state are a husband and wife who recently returned from the United Kingdom.

However, the state ministry of health after announcing the discharge of the second patient still advised the residents and citizens of the state to stay at home.
The ministry advised everyone in the state to maintain personal hygiene as well as obey all the announced regulations to prevent the spread of the virus.
Citizens and residents of the state were directed to call 08182555550 or 09022333833, or the NCDC number 080097000010 when they are in need of assistance.

In a similar development, Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, has announced that five confirmed cases of coronavirus have recovered and tested negative twice.
Obaseki made the disclosure on Friday, April 17 while giving updates on the virus via his official Facebook page.
According to the Edo governor, the patients who previously tested positive for the novel coronavirus have been discharged from the hospital.
He said: "I am pleased to announce that five (5) of the confirmed cases have tested negative twice for #coronavirus (#COVID-19 ) in our dear state. They have thus been discharged.
"This bolsters our resolve to defeat this common enemy, as we roll out more measures to check the spread of the virus and save more lives in the state."
The Nigerian government on Thursday evening confirmed 35 new cases of the coronavirus infection, taking the number of confirmed cases in the country to 442.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced in a tweet that the new cases were detected in four states.
According to the NCDC, 19 of the new cases were confirmed in Lagos, 9 in FCT, 5 in Kano state and 2 in Oyo state.
