Toyin Abraham reacts to news of replacing colleague Funke Akindele as NCDC ambassador

Popular Nigerian actress Toyin Abraham was recently a topic of discussion on social media after she was spotted in a video campaign against the coronavirus pandemic which was initiated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Shortly after Abraham was seen in the video, some social media users started passing words around that she has been used as a replacement for colleague, Funke Akindele, who recently got into trouble after violating the social distancing laws put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Following the development, the screen diva has now come out to set the record clear and maintain that she is not an ambassador to the NCDC.

In a statement shared via the Instagram page of her manager, Abraham pointed out that contrary to the reports making the rounds online, she was never used to replace her colleague.

Abraham added that she is not one to take advantage of a bad situation. According to her, she only featured in a video campaign against the pandemic.

"I support the campaign against Covid-19, I appeared on a video campaign against the pandemic but please let's not drag another person down," the statement read in part.
