Federal lawmaker donates 11 trailer loads of rice after constituency records index coronavirus case
- A member of the House of Representatives has provided relief package for his constituents as Nigeria continues to battle coronavirus

Mohammed Umar Bago, a member of the House of Representatives, has donated eleven trailer loads of rice to his constituents in Niger state.
Honourable Bago who represents Chanchaga federal constituency said the action was to cushion the effect of the stay at home order and preparation for Ramadan.
He noted: "I want to assure my constituents of the token of my relief package to cushion the effect of the stay at home order as we also prepare for Ramadan.
My Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdulakeem Abdulrahman Oshinuga is working closely with our suppliers to ensure the speedy delivery of the 11 Trailer loads of Rice for the 11wards in Chanchaga Federal Constituency."
Legit.ng gathered that the lawmaker's donation is coming after a community in Niger state recorded its first COVID-19 case.
Bago who disclosed this in a statement he shared on his official Facebook page said his heart was heavy as Niger state recorded the first case of the coronavirus in one of the communities of his federal constituency.
According to him, his thoughts are with this first index case and family, together with Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, health workers, constituents and the good people of Niger state.
The APC lawmaker appealed to his constituents on the need for them to strictly adhere to the stay-home order as they continue to maintain social distancing,
Bago also urged the people to take to healthy instructions and not panic as they will come through this.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Akin Alabi, on Saturday, March 29, started a door-to-door enlightenment campaign on COVID-19 to teach local residents in his constituency about social distancing and self-isolation.
