As expected, the president’s announcement triggered a lot of mixed reactions from Nigerian on social media.
Many could not help but wonder how less privileged families are expected to survive for the next 14 days, since they have been crippled from going out to find means of survival.
"Another 14 days lockdown effective from tonight . So how many families will have to share a loaf of bread this time? How many homes will share 5 bowls of rice does 14days? How many audio-families will receive 20k this time? Is the president aware of the robberies?" One user tweeted.
Another concerned citizen tweeted saying: "President Buhari probably did the right thing, but I want to plead with whoever is in charge to please supply adequate security to Lagos and do something to curb this hunger. Some families don't even know what they want to eat tonight, not to talk of another 14 days. So sad."
