COVID-19: Nigerian student in China recounts horrible experience with Chinese people

A Nigerian student identified as @Mzzrenna has shared her experience as an African in China. @Mzzrenna took to her page on the popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter, tell people what she has been going through.

In a series of tweets, the Nigerian student said that she has been subjected to a compulsory quarantine even though she does not have a travel history for the past 12 months.

According to her, she does not sleep well at night because she is not sure of what the next day holds for her.

Noting that she does not have a problem going under quarantine, @Mzzrenna revealed that only black people are being targeted. She stated that the racist comments from some Chinese have filled her heart with fears.

Comparing the life of Chinese in Africa and that of Africans in China, @Mzzrenna says that the Nigerian government isn't taking necessary actions.

Urging the Chinese people not to blame Africans for the current pandemic happening in the world, the Nigerian student said that the hate on black people is too much. According to her, black people are really suffering.

She also prayed not to get kicked out from her abode after the compulsory 14 days quarantine.

@Mzzrenna said that some black students are indoors and some have been told to move out by their landlords.

In other news, Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigerians in China narrated their ordeal in the hands of Chinese police. A viral video online revealed Nigerians being chased around on Chinese roads amid coronavirus lockdown. The Nigerian voice in the video said the Chinese government is treating them like second class citizens despite the fact that their citizens are in Africa with full freedom. The Nigerian man said that the police officials chased them out of their hotel rooms into the rain.
