For a few days now, the Nigerian social media has been rent with discussions about Nollywood actress Funke Akindele-Bello and the run-in she had with the law.
The Nollywood film star had hosted a birthday party at her abode in Amen estate, Lagos, and videos from the occasion made the rounds on social media.
A number of Nigerians were angered by it seeing as the government had ordered a lockdown and for people to stay at home and practise social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Well, Akindele-Bello and her husband were dragged on social media as people clamoured for their arrest. This was eventually done and they were arraigned and sentenced.
Well, Burna Boy has now commented on the situation. In a series of videos shared on his Instastory, he said that Nigerians deserve the things happening to them.
He also said things would have been better for them if they used the same energy they showed in reporting Akindele to the NCDC on calling out the government.

In other related news, Legit.ng also reported that comedian, AY Makun, took to social media to also defend Funke Akindele after her arraignment.
According to him, he agrees that nobody is above the law but he also wishes that those who called out the actress can also do the same for oppressors in the government.
He wrote: “Yes! Nobody is above the law. But I wish those of you who called out @funkeakindele can do same with your countless oppressors in government... Even when the sky is filled with clouds the sun still shines above. Funke will rise again.#lessonslearnt.”
