In life, people make mistakes, some even graver than others. It is a known saying that where there is no law, there is no sin. Fortunately, many societies have laws guiding them and make sure to punish offenders who have been found guilty.

Just as there is a punishment for every crime, human beings also deserve second chances, especially when they have shown remorse and have taken up a better behaviour.

That appears to be the case of one David Jassy who was in prison for killing a 55-year-old named John Osnes in a road rage in year 2008.

According to reports from Metro UK, Jassy had hit the curb and the 55-year-old protested about the right of pedestrians. Eye-witnesses at the scene said that Jassy reacted violently by kicking Osnes in the head before speeding off.

Jassy had now spent 11 out of his 15 to life sentence before the help from Kim Kardashian and Jessica Jackson, a human rights lawyer.

The young man was released after launching a music programme for other inmates in prison. Jessica worked closely with him and his actions showed rehabilitation and great remorse.

Speaking exclusively with Metro, Jessica spoke on some of the things Jassy had done while in prison.

She said: "He had a music program inside of the prison so I spent a lot of time with him over at the music programme, where he was mentoring youth who were inside of the prison.

"I think it just was such a compelling story and in such a compelling case and I saw all the kids done to rehabilitate himself.
