Remember Chiagozie Sunday Nweke, the boy whose photograph surfaced on social media after he was seen selling sachet water in Ebonyi state?
He is now one of the happiest as his dreams are gradually becoming a reality.
As instructed by the former Lagos lawmaker, Ipoola Omisore, who finally discovered him and promised to help mobilise funds for his education and for his parents' upliftment, Chaigozie, on Monday, April 4, opened an account with a bank.
Omisore is championing the move to help Chiagozie become useful to himself and the society and the boy seems to understand this, especially with the way he smiled excitedly while in the bank.
The account number was opened in his name and funds are expected to be made available by donors many of whom have called the former lawmakers and expressed their interests to see that the boy lives a happy life.
After the photograph surfaced on Facebook, Omisore had asked Nigerians to help locate the boy who hawks sachet water on the street despite being physically challenged.
The ex-lawmaker took to his official Facebook page to post the picture of the boy, asking Nigerians to share so as to locate the boy.
Omisore had expressed sadness that the young boy still hawks on the street in spite of his disability.
The former member of the Lagos state House of Assembly finally found the physically challenged boy in Ebonyi.
It was after his discovery that his identity became known and his name was given as Chiagozie Sunday Nweke.
Omisore had promised that apart from the scholarship, he planned, through his foundation, to provide Chiagozie with an artificial leg and pocket money which would be deposited in an account to be opened in his name.
