Funke Akindele's party: Former governorship candidate Gbadamosi arrested

It appears the dragnet is slowly getting to the attendees of the birthday party organised by Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele for her husband, Abdul-Rasheed Bello, as yet another arrest has been made.

A former Lagos governorship candidate, Babatunde Gbadamosi, has been arrested and detained by operatives of the Lagos state police command for going against the order passed by the state government to contain the coronavirus.

Gbadamosi’s arrest comes after he was sighted in the viral video attending the birthday bash. According to The Guardian Nigeria, a police source revealed that Gbadamosi may not be released for engaging in an act that went against the law.

This comes after he apologised for gracing Nollywood actress' party for her husband, JJC Skillz. Gbadamosi was spotted in a video apologising to Nigerians, stating that he was sorry for not adhering to the general rule of social distancing.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Akindele flouted the rule of social distancing after organising a birthday party for her husband. The actress posted moments from the party on her Instagram page, much to the disappointment of many Nigerians.

Also, Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley surrendered himself to the police, Tribune reports.

The singer reportedly went to the police at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos state after he was told to surrender himself for disobeying the public gathering rules.

Naira Marley was one of the celebrities who attended the party the actress organised for her husband's birthday. Videos from the birthday party were shared online which got many people outraged by the celebrities' disobedience.

Meanwhile, a magistrate court sitting in Ogba, Lagos, on Monday, April 6, sentenced the actress and her husband Abdulrasheed Bello also known as JJC Skillz to 14 days community service each.

The court also directed the celebrity couple to pay a fine of N100,000 each. Akindele and her husband were charged to court by the Lagos government for violating restriction orders in the state.
