Nigerians have taken to social media to air their opinion over the arrest and arraignment of popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele-Bello.

As expected, there are various reactions to the actress' conviction and the fine she was told to pay.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Funke Akindele was arrested by the police after she flouted the rules of Lagos state on social distancing. She organised a birthday party for her husband and the moments from the celebration were shared on social media.

The video angered a lot of Nigerians who called the actress out on her disobedience to the government's directives. This matter led to her arrest, arraignment in court and her conviction.

Nigerians have now taken to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, to express their opinion about the whole saga.

Some people called out the government on the number of people present at the court where the actress was arraigned. According to them, the reason Funke was arrested was also been disregarded by the people in court.

Uti Nwachukwu called on the Lagos state government to free Nollywood actress Funke Akindele-Bello. The media personality took to his social media page to beg for the actress' release. He stated that one of the lessons he learnt very early as a celebrity is not to fall for most of the praises of people who claim they are fans unless they have been tried and tested.
