Earlier on, Legit.ng reported the news of how Nollywood actress Funke Akindele-Bello was arrested by the Lagos state police command over the house party hosted to celebrate her husband's birthday on Saturday, April 4, at their Amen Estate residence.
According to The Nation, the police public relations officer, Bala Elkana, confirmed that the actress, popularly called ‘Jenifa’, had been taken to a chief magistrates court in Ogba, Lagos.
The prosecuting team is said to be from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP). According to reports, the actress alongside her husband will have to give reasons why they should not be sent to jail for a month each or pay the fine of N100k.

Recall shortly after her arrest, the Jenifa star who received heavy bashing online took to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to express how she felt following her arrest and it may have given some of her fans reasons to worry.
In a tweet which she appears to have since deleted, the actress revealed she felt broken over everything that happened following the birthday bash she threw for her husband.
Meanwhile, award-winning Nigerian author, Chimamanda Adichie, has taken to social media to pen down her thoughts on the coronavirus global pandemic also known as COVID-19.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Adichie who lost her aunt to a brain-related condition reflected on life and mourning a loved one in a time when the world appears to have shut down.
