Former lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district Dino Melaye has cried out over calls he said he received, requesting him to back off the 5G network issue.
Legit.ng notes that the former senator took to his Twitter page to make the alarm, saying nobody could kill him.
He tweeted: "I have received 2 international calls threatening me and warning me to back off the 5G issue. I was told by the last caller that 5G is bigger than Presidents of nations so i should stop. And i told him it is not bigger than God. I am not killable by man."
In other news, the coronavirus has continued to spread worldwide and cripple economic activities. As this is happening, so also are rumours and conspiracy theories about the disease spreading.
This time, rumours are spreading about the latest 5G technology. Some on social media are claiming that the 5G technology is the cause of the infection.
The latest to join those spreading this theory is a former senator from Kogi state, Dino Melaye.
Melaye in a video that is trending on social media claims the 5G technology is responsible for deaths associated with coronavirus. According to him, it is the reaction from this 5G that has some biological interactions with our cells.
He called on all network providers to demobilise any 5G network in any part of Nigeria.
Legit.ng previously reported that Daddy Freeze has reacted to claims that 5G network is the major reason people are dying in their numbers of coronavirus in other countries.
The controversial on air personality said WhatsApp is the major problem Nigeria is facing due to dissemination of false information people use the platform for.
He wrote: “The fear and unfounded conspiracy theories being peddled on WhatsApp are our near and present danger, not 5G.-WhatsApp has become the medium for spreading the modern day ‘Jewish myths’ the Apostles complained about and when it’s in the hands of religious and superstitious people, it becomes a looming catastrophe.
"Yes, there might be some level of danger associated with a technological breakthrough, but it’s a far cry from the exaggerated claims of WhatsApp theorists, who will go as far as spreading rumors about the COVID19 vaccine being the ‘antichrist’ and all manner of utter buffoonery."
