France and Sporting Charleroi of Belgium goalkeeper Nicolas Penneteau has stated that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen reminds him of former Chelsea goal poacher Didier Drogba, Complete Sports.

Penneteau and Osimhen were team-mates at Sporting Charleroi until the Nigerian player moved to join German club Wolfsburg on loan in 2018.

Osimhen left a remarkable record at Charleroi where he netted 19 goals in his 34 appearances.

The performance saw top France side Lille sign the striker and he has continued to bang in the goals for the Ligue 1 outfit with 18 goals this season in all competitions.

Obviously delighted with the Nigerian star, Penneteau relishes the lad and stated that Osimhen will someday become a phenomenon, saying he reminds him of Ivorian legend Didier Drogba.

“I’m sure he’s going to be a phenomenon,” the 39-year-old said about the 2019 AFCON bronze medal winner.

“I’d compare him to Didier Drogba. He really makes me think of him. He has the same profile. He can do everything and he’s phenomenally powerful.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have intensified their chase for Nigerian youngster Victor Osimhen as the club search for a possible replacement for Luka Jovic and Gareth Bale, Complete Sports reports.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Super Eagles star John Obi Mikel has been offered a mouth-watering 18-month contract worth $2million by Brazilian club Botafogo according to reports by ESPN.

Jorge Nicola of ESPN, on his YouTube channel, revealed that the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club are offering the Nigerian star a huge amount worth more than what he earned at Turkish side Trabzonspor.

It was revealed that the amount exceeds $2million (about R $ 10.6 million) per 18 months contract.

However, it was gathered that the former Chelsea defensive midfielder is in negotiation with the club and has told them to add a little more.
