Instagram comedian Sydney Egere has apologised for criticising the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) a few days ago on his page on the popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter.

In a series of tweets, the funnyman said he was sorry for hurting people by his actions and that it was not his intentions to belittle the efforts of hardworking health workers.

Legit.ng reported some days ago that Sydney Talker raised an alarm about having symptoms of the coronavirus disease. According to him, he has been exhibiting some signs and complained that neither the health workers nor the NCDC were taking him seriously.

He also shared a video to show Nigerians that he was serious about his claims.

While some people believed him, others said that the comedian was just making a joke.

Sharing his test result online seemed to confirm the statement of people who said that he was just playing pranks with the NCDC. According to Sydney, his test result came out negative.

Although, he denied that he was playing pranks, noting that he would never joke with his life. However, people have not stopped calling him out over his criticism of the NCDC.

The comedian has now come out to apologise to people.

According to him, his criticism of the NCDC was to make them do better for the citizens. He pledged to join in the fight against coronavirus.

He also promised to update his fans and followers with safety measures. According to him, he does not mind being a volunteer for the NCDC.

He also noted that nobody should prank the disease control organisation, reiterating that his initial reaction was not a joke.
