Charles Tambe, Abia Warriors goalkeeper, shot in Ibadan

Charles Tambe, Abia Warriors goalkeeper, has been shot in Ibadan by suspected hoodlums in the city of Ibadan, Oyo state.

It is understood that the Abia Warriors shot-stopper was rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan for medical attention.

Details of what transpired between the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) have not been ascertained as at the time of writing this report.

But NPFL side, Abia Warriors the confirmed the incident on their official Twitter handle claiming Tambe is receiving treatment at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng Super Eagles and Enugu International forward Ifeanyi George has been reportedly killed in a ghastly motor accident while returning to his base on Sunday, March 22, 2020.

The ex-Enyimba of Aba striker was in the car with two others who were also killed in the incident.

They were said to be returning home when the tragic incident occurred. Heartbroken former team-mate and Nigeria beach soccer legend Abu Azeez replied a post with ‘crying emojis’, describing it as the "saddest news of the year".

Legit.ng also reported that Nigerian Professional Football League clubs Enyimba of Aba and Abia Comets were reportedly told to pay N20million for the release of their players who were kidnapped on Sunday, March 22.

Enyimba’s Ekundayo Ojo and Abia Comet’s Benjamin Iluyomade were abducted at Ipele town, after Ifon in Ondo state, cited on Twitter.

It was gathered that the duo were returning home from their base before the incident occurred in Akure.

Abia Comet’s star Emmanuel James who was also caught in the web managed to escape the attack.
