Nigerian singer and actress Aituaje Iruobe popularly known as Waje has said that she would not be partaking in the online giveaway inspired by the coronavirus lockdown. Waje took to her page on the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, to make this known.

Just like in many other countries, Nigerians have been told to stay at home to avoid a further spread of the pandemic disease. This made people take to their various social media pages to lament of hunger.

To ease the burdens on people, celebrities decided to do a giveaway online for their fans and followers to get basic necessities.

However, Waje said that she is not interested in the online giveaways that her colleagues are doing. The singer said this after a fan asked her to do a giveaway during a question and answer session on Twitter.

The actress went ahead to give reasons why she is not interested in donating to fans and followers. She noted that the pandemic disease has made this tough for people, stating that the people that are most hit are in the slums.

She stated that her focus is on people who are so poor that they cannot afford mobile data to hustle for online giveaways.

Waje explained that people living in the slums need money and food more than people online.

The singer urged her followers not to send their account numbers as she would not credit them. She encouraged them to take advantage and make good use of the money being shared by other celebrities online.
