- Manchester United are keen on having Rakitic in a bid to fortify their midfield

The Croatian could be playing at the Old Trafford this summer as he is said to be free to leave Barcelona for £17.6m, according to reports from SunSport.

Rakitic who has been a major part of the Barcelona squad previously has failed to impress in the last couple of seasons and this will allow the Catalan club to let him go.

The former Sevilla attacking midfielder joined Barcelona on June 16, 2014 when he signed a 5-year contract.

Barcelona chiefs are in desperate bid to recoup the £17m they paid in signing him in 2014 as his contract lapses by June 2021.

Despite the continued spread of the coronavirus, Spanish outlet Marca reports that although there are uncertainties as regards the start of the next transfer window, Rakitic will leave Barcelona regardless.

Reports say there are offers from top European clubs in Italy, France and especially England as Manchester United are keen on having him to bolster their midfield.

Rakitic will leave the Catalan club with his head high winning 13 trophies with his major title the 2015 UEFA Champions league where he also scored in that final. He has so far made 299 appearances for the club.

It would be a very busy transfer window for Barcelona as Neymar's return to the club from Paris Saint-Germain could cost the Spanish side Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho, reports in Spain claim.

It is no more news that Neymar desires to return to the Camp Nou since he made a world record move of £198million in 2017 to Paris.

On the other hand, Barca are willing to offload players in the summer due to lack of funds for the club to spend in the summer window.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Rio Ferdinand has stated clearly that he would be glad if his former club Manchester United can break the bank this summer to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United chiefs are planning to bring more players to Old Trafford when the suspended 2019/20 Premier League comes to an end.

Harry Kane who currently plays for Tottenham has failed to win titles at the club and he is said to be reportedly tired of playing where there is no tendency of him winning.

Spurs are already out of all competitions this season after crashing out of the Champions League, and even miracle cannot make Jose Mourinho and his wards win the Premier League title.
