Aliko Dangote reportedly donates 600-bed isolation center to Kano

- Aliko Dangote has reportedly donated a 600-bed isolation center to the Kano state government

- The isolation center is being set up at the Sani Abacha Stadium

- This was made known by the Kano state special adviser on new media, Salihu Tanko Yakasai

Top Nigerian billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote has brought hope to the people of Kano state following his generous donation towards the fight against the coronavirus pandemic also known as COVID-19.

Dangote who is Africa's richest man donated a 600-bed isolation center to the state, which will be mounted at the Sani Abacha Stadium, according Salihu Tanko Yakasai who is the special adviser on media in the state.

Yakasai tweeted: "The 600 bed isolation centre donated to Kano by Aliko Dangote in collaboration with the State Govt is being setup at the Sani Abacha Stadium. It will be the centre for mild cases of Covid-19 (God forbid) while the 72 bed Kwanar Dawaki will serve as the centre for major cases."

Meanwhile, it was a huge relief in Kano following a confirmation that 22 out of 25 suspected cases of coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) tested negative in the state. Prior to the confirmation, there has been anxiety in the state as coronavirus took a grave dimension in the country with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reporting more cases.

With the virus already detected in neighbouring Kaduna and Bauchi states, Kano government has been on alert, hence the Covid-19 test being carried out on suspected cases.
