Former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel is reportedly in talks with Brazilian topflight side Botafogo over a possible move to join them in the coming weeks.

The former Chelsea midfielder walked out of his contract with Turkish side Trabzonspor last month following the authority's refusal to suspend the league in the middle of coronavirus pandemic.

He has since then reunited with his family while hoping to secure a new deal at another club since the Nigerian star is far from retiring anytime soon.
