The Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed, has offered the sum of N2m as a reward for whoever provides information that will lead to the safe return of his abducted brother.
The senior special assistant to the governor on media, Mukhtar Gidado, in a statement on Sunday, March 29, disclosed that the reward was promised by the family of Bala Mohammed.
“The family wishes to offer the sum of Two Million Naira (N 2 Million Naira) to whoever is willing to provide information leading to his safe return," the statement reads.
The governor’s elder brother, Adamu Mohammed, was reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen on March Wednesday 25 around at Anguwar Jaki in Bauchi metropolis.
Meanwhile, the governor of Bauchi state, Bala Mohammed, has said he is doing great in isolation after testing positive for the deadly coronavirus.
Mohammed who disclosed this information on his official Facebook page on Friday, March 27, thanked everyone for their love and concern which he has received.
While giving an update on his condition, the governor noted that he is not showing any symptoms of the virus. He urged the people not to relent in prayers as this phase will be over shortly.
Mohammed while telling the people of Bauchi state that they shall overcome all the tribulations, assured them that their leader remains strong and in good spirit.
This development is coming two days after Yakubu Dogara, the former speaker of the House of Representatives, said the Bauchi governor is doing okay without any adverse manifestation of the deadly coronavirus symptoms.
Dogara disclosed this information on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, March 25, after he got in touch with the governor.
In another news, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Bello, has announced that he is negative for coronavirus (COVID-19), which is spreading across Nigeria.
It was learnt that the minister recently submitted his blood sample to be tested for the virus by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The Nation reports that Bello submitted his blood sample after it emerged that he may have been exposed to people who had tested positive for the virus.
