One of Africa's world-known billionaires, Aliko Dangote, has tested negative to coronavirus. He said that he took the decision to test because he is a global citizen.

The billionaire also said that the outbreak has greatly affected the modern world and disrupted everyone's health and well-being.

In a subsequent tweet, he said that he is championing an initiative called Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) with other world business leaders.

He said the main aim of CACOVID is to help the government initiative to solve the outbreak, adding that he is very hopeful that the world would beat the deadly virus.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported a well-known Nigerian academic, Ndubuisi Ekekwe spoke about the need for African billionaires and mega churches to rise up to fight coronavirus on the continent.

The Nigerian voiced his opinion as he praised Tony Elumelu of UBA for donating the huge sum of $14 million (N5,138,000,000) to help combat the pandemic in Africa.

Ndubuisi, therefore, said that if anyone has money, “now is the time” to show it to their national community as the world struggles against the unprecedented virus.

He asked the affluent among the people to “touch us with your money and resources”, as he jokingly added that he will write and thank them as teachers are wont to do.
