Carlos Soler on Arsenal radar as Gunners prepare bid for Valencia star

- Carlos Soler could be on his way to Premier League club Arsenal

- The Gunners are reportedly preparing a bid for the 23-year-old

- Soler has been fantastic for Valencia since making his debut for the club during the 2016/2017 season

With reports that Valencia are desperately in need of funds, Arsenal are preparing a swift bid for Spanish midfielder Carlos Soler, according to reports on SunSport.

Soler has been in spectacular form this season which has now attracted the Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta who is making efforts in landing the 23-year-old to England.

The player recently extended his contract with Valencia, a deal which will see him remain at the club until 2023, however the Gunners could trigger that clause during the summer transfer window.

It was gathered that the Premier League club are looking to cash in on the lad as a report on Spanish outlet Marca earlier claimed that Valencia are in desperate need to raise £36million in player sales by the end of June 2020.

The Arsenal manager is eyeing the star in a bid to bolster his squad in the midfield.

Soler who has been at Valencia since 2005 is valued around £30million. He has made 141 appearances for the club since making his debut during the 2016/17 season.

Should Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil all leave Arsenal, the London club will be very busy in during the transfer window.

Also, Arsenal have reportedly tabled a £25 million offer to sign Chris Smalling from Man United in the summer.

Smalling is currently on a season-long loan with AS Roma, having been shipped out last summer as he was deemed surplus to requirements.

The centre-back has enjoyed an impressive start to life with the Italian giants, emerging as fans favourite among supporters at the Studio Olimpico.

His spectacular performances have seen the Rome-based club plot a permanent deal for the Englishman at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is currently staring at an uncertain future with Arsenal having stalled on signing a new deal.

Aubameyang has just a year left on his current contract with the Gunners but could lose him should they fail to qualify for Champions League.

The uncertainty surrounding his future has seen top European clubs including Man United and Barcelona line up for his services.

The situation is said to have left Arsenal under increasing pressure to cash in on the Gabonese star at the end of the season rather than lose him for free next summer
