Manuel Neuer becomes Chelsea's major transfer target as Arrizabalaga set to leave

- Manuel Neuer could become Chelsea’s number one goalkeeper

- Frank Lampard is said to be preparing a transfer bid for the 33-year-old

- The deal will however not happen if the Kepa Arrizabalaga is not sold

There are reports that Chelsea are now preparing their bid for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer following the potential exit of Kepa Arrizabalaga from the Stamford Bridge, Daily Star reports.

The German number one shot stopper has been linked with a move to joining the Premier League giants and now Frank Lampard seems to be making him a major target this summer.

Spanish goalie Kepa Arrizabalaga has been dropped by the Chelsea manager despite him being the current most expensive goalkeeper.

Chelsea had in 2018 signed Kepa from Athletic Bilbao for a whopping £71.6m, but he had struggled to live up to expectation as he recently managed to appear in a few games.

The football community was shocked when Kepa returned to England just before the Premier League was postponed.

According to German outlet Bild, if Kepa leaves the Stamford Bridge side, then Neuer would likely be his replacement.

It was however gathered that Neuer is planning an extension with the Bundesliga giants,, while Kepa is keen on remaining with the Blues.

Lampard said: “Every player is in control of their destiny in how they train and how they play.

“This is Chelsea and we're trying to close the gap to the top, so there can be no one who is relaxed or loose, we have to push every day.

“But there are no decisions beyond the game tomorrow night as far as I'm concerned.

“Is he in the frame tomorrow? Yep. He's been professional as expected, he's trained well, kept his head down, supported the team, and the group.

“I say the same every week, I get asked this every week, he's been good.”
