- Leonardo Bonucci is wanted in England by Manchester City boss Guardiola
- The Italian defender is believed to be Spaniard's solution to his licking backline
- Bonucci has a contract with Juventus until the summer of 2024
- The Citizens are currently 22 points behind Liverpool on the Premier League table
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly planning to lure Leonardo Bonucci away from Juventus at the end of this season.
The Premier League defending champions parted ways with their inspirational captain and center-back Vincent Kompany who left the club after helping them retain the title.
They have since then failed to find a replacement for the Belgian defender, as they further suffered a major setback when Aymeric Laporte was sidelined for a period of time.
At the moment, the Citizens trail table-toppers Liverpool with 22 points - though have one match in hand.
And Daily Mail predicts the arrival of Bonucci at the Etihad could help them solve the defensive problems rocking the club.
Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones have failed to justify their wages and the former Barcelona manager could offload them to free up space for new signing when the transfer window opens.
The Italian defender is contracted to Juve until the summer of 2024 - meaning that Guardiola has to fight for the signature of the player.

His present manager Maurizio Sarri also sees the 32-year-old as a key member of his team if they must do well in Europe at the end of this campaign.
He has featured for the Old Lady 34 times this campaign and has registered four goals across competitions. He has also avoided a straight red so far but has been issued a warning card six times.
Guardiola was quoted to have said back in 2017: "He (Bonucci) is an exceptional player in terms of character, personality - in terms of everything."
The Italian joined Juve in 2010 from Bari and has been a part of their success all the way until 2017 when he left the club for a short spell at AC Milan.
But just after one season away from the Allianz Stadium, the 32-year-old returned to the club and helped them clinch the Serie A title last season.
They will also be counting on his experience to overturn their 1-0 result when they battle Ligue 1 side, Lyon, in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 encounter when the league returns.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Sheffield United have been reported as the only Premier League top 10 team who have refused to support banning Manchester City from entering the Champions League during their appeal.
The Citizens were recently punished by the world football governing body who hit them with two years ban from playing in the Champions League.
Manchester City were accused to have gone against the rules governing the game of football which them the punishment to fall on them.
