Chinese Super League giants Shanghai Shenhua have reportedly offered Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo massive £400k-a-week deal for him to leave Manchester United this summer.
According to the report on Sky Sports, Shanghai Shenhua's chiefs have been impressed with Odion Ighalo's performances so far for Manchester United and they want him to return to China.
Odion Ighalo has been superb for Manchester United since he joined in January scoring four goals for the Red Devils in three starts.
And his parent club in China are said to have been pleased with his success so far at Manchester United and want him to come back to the team.
His current contract at Shanghai will expire in December 2022 and now the Chinese club have offered him another two-year deal.
But Odion Ighalo's major focus now is to see if Manchester United would offer him an extension to his current six-month deal when the season comes to an end.
There have been reports that United manager Ole Solskjaer is pleased with Odion Ighalo's game and wants the Nigerian to remain at Old Trafford this summer.
Should Odion Ighalo decides to return to China after his stay at Manchester United, then he will become highest paid African player on earth.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand stated that although he had questioned why the club brought Odion Ighalo to Old Trafford, he has now changed his mind.
The ex-England defender stated that he was not too sure when United signed the 30-year-old on deadline day, but he now has another thought.
Ighalo has been impressive since moving to Manchester United scoring four goals in his three starts for the club.
He has also made five appearances off the bench and performed well to the surprise of the former defender.
Ferdinand who won the Premier League with Manchester United six times now believes Ighalo’s impact is very much needed at the club.
He further stated that his performance since joining the club will be a big morale booster for injured Marcus Rashford and other players in the team.
