Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that amid mounting coronavirus scare, the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan has shut down major operations and key services including consultation.

The chief medical director of the hospital, Jesse Otegbayo, made this known on Wednesday, March 25, and further added that the departments in the hospital will also stop rendering services until further notice, Premium Times reports.

Briefing further on the development, Otegbayo said that the shutdown on major services became necessary due to the “accidental exposure of some doctors in the institution to some suspected Covid-19 patients.”

He gave the affected departments as outpatients clinics, medicine and surgery and paediatric departments.

Otegbayo said with the coronavirus outbreak in the country, the major priority of the hospital henceforth will be geared towards curbing the spread of the virus.
