There is anxiety among Nigeria's top politicians after Mallam Abba Kyari tested positive to coronavirus on Tuesday, March 24.
Widely regarded as the most powerful man in the seat of power, Kyari is the chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Borno state born former banker had visited Germany recently alongside the minister of power, Engineer Saleh Mamman where it is suspected he contracted the disease.
Upon his arrival, Kyari has interacted with dozens of people, prompting fears that he may have infected many of them.

Daily Trust reports that Kyari had participated in several state functions and unofficial engagements that attracted prominent personalities.
On Saturday, March 14, Kyari attended the wedding of the son of the Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu. Kano state governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote were among top dignitaries that graced the wedding.
At the meeting of All Progressives Congress (APC) governors with President Buhari on March 16, Kyari was also there and group photographs were taken.
The meeting was attended by 16 out of the 20 governors of the ruling party.
Kyari also had an encounter with the embattled national chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
On Tuesday, March 17, he led a delegation to Okene to commiserate with Governor Yahaya Bello who recently lost his mother.
Four ministers and the senior special assistant to the president, media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu were members of the delegation.
The same day, he attended a briefing session by the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC) led by Professor Doyin Salami and took pictures with them.
Members of the council include prominent economists like Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Dr. Bismarck Rewane and Dr Mohammed Adaya Salisu.
Kyari was also in attendance at last week’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, March 18.
Inside the council’s chambers, his seat was not far from that of the secretary of the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha and Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
On Thursday, March 19, Kyari attended the inauguration of the National Humanitarian Coordination Committee (NHCC).
Those at the event include two female ministers, National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd.), three governors, ministers of defence, interior, justice; and minister of state budget and planning.
The service chiefs were also at the well-attended event and photographs were taken.
A presidential source said yesterday that all the people that had been exposed to the chief of staff would be on self-isolation any moment from now.
Other sources said some governors have already gone on self-isolation ahead of determining their status by relevant authorities.
Meanwhile, Vice President Osinbajo has gone into self-isolation after sitting close to Kyari at the last Federal Executive Council meeting held in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.
