The coronavirus pandemic is becoming a horror story in many parts of the world, particularly in African countries where their healthcare systems are next to zero and the high and mighty who used to go abroad for treatment can no longer do so because most airports are already on lock down.

The pandemic has threatened to bring the world to its knees with many countries shutting down and even religious and social gatherings being suspended indefinitely.

In Nigeria, the news of the coronavirus seemed like something so far away but it has now started hitting close to home as popular personalities are already testing positive for COVID-19.

A number of well-known people have taken to social media to speak on the issue and the most recent of them is the daughter of the president of Nigeria, Zahra Buhari.

President Buhari’s daughter, Zahra, took to social media via her Instastory to share her opinion on the coronavirus pandemic.

Just recently, Legit.ng reported that the governor of Bauchi state, Bala Mohammed, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

This news was confirmed on Tuesday, March 24, by Mukhtar Gidado, the senior special assistant Governor Mohammed on media.

This is coming shortly after it was learnt that President Buhari's Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, has also tested positive for the virus.

Kyari who returned from Germany on March 14, did not self isolate as NCDC directed and attended a meeting on Saturday, March 21, in Aso rock on containing the virus where he began to cough repeatedly and thereafter surrendered himself for testing. He has now gone into self-isolation for treatment.
