Earlier on, a disturbing video of a girl being beaten by her boyfriend in the presence of three of his friends, went viral online. It sparked social media outrage with many people including celebrities, calling for justice to be served.
The incident was believed to have taken place in Makurdi, Benue state. Shortly after, humanitarian, Ukan Kurugh, took to social media to reveal he had reached the victim to tell her side of the story. Ukan also exposed the young men.
According to the post he shared on Facebook, Dooshima Ella Terwase revealed that the boyfriend identified as Moses Chiutar, with Facebook account name, King Marret De Entertainer, had returned home from Caristas university on March 18 and invited her over to his house.

Ella stated that he wanted to talk about the issues they had been having as she had suspected she was pregnant for him and told him so.
She initially turned down his request but was persuaded by his friend identified as Precious Blessing (Facebook name: Prëshy Ïbilë). This was said to be the friend who eventually recorded the video of the assault.
She eventually went to his house on March 20 as she had exams to write.
Ella narrated that when she got to the house, she had insisted on having the discussion outside but he once again persuaded her to go inside the house for them to talk before his mother, who is a police officer, returned.
According to Ella, Moses first threatened her with a shotgun after which he went physical on her.
Ukan wrote: "Ella further said Eskay told Junior to beat her up so that she will learn and while Junior was beating her, it got to a point when Tosin held her from behind, allowing Junior the chance to beat her more and Precious would later open the door for her to run out."
Ella who was too scared, revealed she did not tell her mom. However, the video which was recorded by Precious and transferred to Tosin who first shared it went viral and her friends got to see it and wanted to react. She, however, told them not to do anything.

Ukan revealed the matter has been reported to the police.
"Now, having identified Ella, we are heading to the Police to officially lodge a complaint.
We appreciate everyone that has provided useful information that enables us to get this far. FIDA has mandated two lawyers to follow up the matter. Very senior military and paramilitary officers have also indicated interest in the matter and we are grateful to all that have shown concern, one way or the other in this matter."
Meanwhile, amidst the pandemonium the country has been thrown into over the outbreak of COVID-19 also known as coronavirus in Nigeria, it appears issues such as police brutality is far from stopping anytime soon.
Currently trending on social media is yet another video of another young man being harassed by some police officers in Sapele area of Delta state. According to the older brother of the victim, Nick Ben, who shared the video online, his brother didn't commit any offence.
