Marouane Fellaini has joined the growing list of sports celebrities to have tested positive to the deadly Coronavirus, cited on Goal.
The former Man United star arrived at a local health department by rail on March 20, to undergo tests and it has been confirmed that the Belgian star has contracted the virus.
The Shandong Luneng midfielder is now the first case of the COVID-19 involving a Chinese Super League player.
Fellaini joined Shandong in January 2019 and enjoyed a successful first season scoring 13 goals in all competitions as they finished fifth in the league.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Robert Lewandowski and his wife Anna have contributed €1million (£923,900) to help fight the deadly COVID-19, cited on BBC and BR Football.
Lewandoski's Bayern Munich teammates Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich have also set up a fund called We Kick Corona to help eradicate the pandemic which has taken thousands of lives around the world.
Goretzka and Kimmich have also contributed €1million between them as their international teammate and Man City attacker Leroy Sane has also made his own donation.
Legit.ng also reported that earlier reported that Lorenzo Sanz, former Real Madrid president has passed on at the age of 76 after losing battle to deadly Coronavirus, cited on Mirror and BBC.
The former Los Blancos chief was taken to the hospital earlier in the week after falling ill and his family confirmed Sanz contracted COVID-19.
Sanz won two Champions League titles when he was president of Real Madrid for five years from 1995-200 and signed stars like Pedrac Mijatovic and Davor Suker.
Legit.ng also reported that Paolo Maldini and son Daniel have tested positive to the deadly Coronavirus, according to club AC Milan, cited on Twitter.
The Rossoneri director of football and player are the latest high profile Italians to have contracted the virus.
Legit.ng reported that Paulo Dybala has tested positive to the deadly Coronavirus and the Juventus attacker confirmed his girlfriend has also been infected, cited on Twitter and The Sun.
He wrote on his Instagram handle: "Hi everyone, I just wanted to inform you that we have received the results for the Covid-19 test and both Oriana and I have tested positive.
"Luckily we are in perfect conditions. Thanks for your messages."
