Premier League: All football activities in England suspended until April 30

- Premier League fans will have to wait until April 30 to enjoy league action

- All other football events in the United Kingdom too will have to wait until that same period

- This decision was reached after the spread of coronavirus has continued to ravage the world

All football activities have been further extended until April 30th owing to the outbreak of coronavirus in the world.

The deadly virus has already forced most football authorities to suspend all league actions in a bid to contain the bug.

According to information on the Premier League official website, all professional league bodies have agreed to fight the pandemic.

The statement further revealed that the league will be concluded but until they are sure the world is safe for the players and fans alike.

They added that they have also thrown their weights behind UEFA to postpone the European championship scheduled to hold this summer until next year.

COVID-19 has already cripped all football activities across the world after players and coaches tested positive for the deadly virus.

The statement says: "the FA’s Rules and Regulations state that "the season shall terminate not later than the 1 June" and "each competition shall, within the limit laid down by The FA, determine the length of its own playing season".

Meanwhile, there will be an exception for the 2019-20 season due to the suspension of the ongoing league season.

It added that: "Additionally, we have collectively agreed that the professional game in England will be further postponed until no earlier than 30 April.

It is unsure when the coronavirus will be curbed or when cure would be found but the bodies are reassuring the fans the health and welfare of players, staff and supporters are our priority.

"We will continue to follow Government advice and work collaboratively to keep the situation under review and explore all options available to find ways of resuming the season when the conditions allow.

"We would all like to re-emphasise that our thoughts are with everyone affected by COVID-19."

Legit.ng earlier reported that Premier League organisers have concluded plans to play the remaining 92 matches this season behind closed doors.

The English topflight was suspended last weekend owing to the spread of deadly coronavirus across the globe.

Apart from league football, a number of national team competitions have also been hit by the tsunami of the bug infecting thousands and killing in hundreds.
