Controversial Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has waded into the issue of Senator Elisha Abbo's appointment as a patron of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).

AGN is a professional body that regulates and represents the affairs of film actors in Nigeria and abroad. The body is currently headed by Emeka Rollas who serves as the president.

Legit.ng earlier reported that veteran actress Hilda Dokubo recently called out Emeka Rollas over the appointment of Senator Elisha. She called for his removal, noting that his appointment was an unpardonable abuse of the rights of all the females in the creative space.

Actress Kate Henshaw also joined her colleague to call for the removal of the senator.

Elisha Abbo was involved in an abuse scandal after he was caught beating up a woman at an adult toy shop in Abuja. Although he apologised to Nigerians over the matter, not many people were convinced of his apology.

Speaking on the matter, Uche Maduagwu took to his social media page to let his colleagues know his stance over the matter. According to him, the senator is God sent to the union, noting that he has been destined to be the patron.

Stating that Kate Henshaw is free to share her opinion, he reminded her that the thoughts of the majority would be considered above hers.

Noting that no human being is perfect, the actor said that a man cannot be defined by a mistake he made in the past. He stated that it isn’t a bad idea to have the senator who allegedly donates 20 percent of his salary to the disabled in Nigeria.

According to him, the fact that many actors are not criticising the senator as AGN patron connotes something. He advised the union to apply wisdom in everything they do.
