- Kano PDP is facing crises over its just-concluded congress
- A rival faction of the party in its reaction has rejected the election
- Specifically, they secured a court injunction restraining the conduct of the election
Another crisis has rocked Kano chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This followed congresses conducted by the party to elect executive members.
A rival faction of the party had secured a court injunction restraining the conduct of the election.
Despite the court injunction, Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, who is the returning officer of the election said it was conducted in 484 wards for 17 elective posts of the party.
He consequently declared that the election is successful, free and fair.
However, the governor claimed he had not been served with court order stopping the congresses in the state.
A rival faction of the party who rejected the election claimed the committee favoured others.
Malam Wade Masu, a former secretary of the party, who spoke on behalf of opposing factions at the end of a meeting between the party’s bigwigs at Tahir Hotel, Kano, rejected the outcome.
