Coronavirus: Old man holds up romantic sign outside quarantined wife's window on anniversary

- A man, Bob Shellard, did not allow the coronavirus to stand in the way of his anniversary

- Shellard and his wife, Nancy, celebrated their 67th anniversary on 14 March but his wife is in quarantine due to the Covid-19 pandemic

- So, he made a sign saying how much he loves Nancy and stood outside her window

For the first time since they tied the knot on 14 March, 1953, Bob and Nancy Shellard could not spend their anniversary together due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Shellards, who hail from Connecticut, US, could not visit his wife at her nursing home this year because of coronavirus precautions, which restrict visitations across the state, through at least April, HuffPost reported.

However, nothing would stop Shellard from showing Nancy some love. Respecting the measures put into place to keep the occupants of the nursing home safe, he came up with a romantic gesture to celebrate their 67th anniversary.

Shellard made a sign, which read: "I've loved you 67 years and still do. Happy Anniversary."

He stood outside Nancy's window with the sign and a bunch of balloons.

Take a look at a snap of Shellard below:

According to reports, Nancy waved and blew kisses to her hubby through her window. Shellard said it made him sad that they could not be together but added that there's no one else for him.

He told New England Cable News:

“I wouldn’t want anybody else. I don’t think she could put up with anybody else besides me.”

Just recently, Legit.ng reported on Hollywood star, Tom Hanks, and his wife, have tested positive for coronavirus.

Hanks and his wife were in Australia where they decided to get tests after experiencing symptoms similar to those of COVID-19.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Hanks said the two were travelling when they felt tired and had body aches. He noted his wife to have had "some chills that came and went" and owing to the spread of the virus, they decided to get checked only to test positive for the virus.
