Mason Mount, Chelsea star, begs Lampard on phone for breaking self-isolation rule

Mason Mount has reportedly called club manager Frank Lampard on the phone to plead for forgiveness after he was seen playing football with Declan Rice on Sunday, March 15.

Mount was seen having a kick-about with his ‘best mate’ Declan Rice despite orders that all Chelsea players should self-isolate after Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive for coronavirus, Daily Mirror reports.

The 21-year-old midfielder ignored advice to stay at home even as government orders anyone who has come in contact with an infected person to stay at home.

In a statement made available by Chelsea, the Blues explained that Hudson-Odoi showed cold symptom on Monday and had to be taken away from the squad.

He was however tested on Thursday morning before the result came out in the night that Callum Hudson-Odoi is now a carrier of the epidemic.

All players of the Stamford Bridge side were sent home from training when it was confirmed that Hudson-Odoi was carrying the virus.

It was gathered that the club management have reminded Mason Mount of his responsibilities after being pictured having a kick-about despite being told to self-isolate.

Now Chelsea midfielder could face a hefty fine - but he has apologised to manager Lampard over the phone, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi are so far the Premier League stars who have been confirmed as carriers of the deadly disease.

Earlier, reported that Brazilian football side Flamengo have confirmed that their manager Jorge Jesus has contracted the deadly coronavirus which has been a major threat for all humans on earth.

The former Benfica gaffer was said to have shown some symptoms on Monday, March 16, before he was taken to the hospital where he was tested positive to the virus.
