Actress Lisa Omorodion calls out AMVCA for discriminating against plus-size women

The AMVCA show may have come to an end but the buzz surrounding it is far from dying anytime soon. If it isn't about who got what movie awards, it is about the controversial Best Dressed awards.

Actress Lisa Omorodion, recently took to social media to express her displeasure about the lack of representation of plus-sized women in the Best Dressed category. According to her, the fashion industry creates a fantasy of what women are supposed to wear and a lot of them struggle to fit into this.

She went further to express her disappointment at the organizers of the AMVCA for discriminating against plus-size women. According to the actress who is also plus-size and showed off her outfit in her post, none of them made it to the Best Dressed list.

Part of her post reads: "It is very disheartening that in Africa, where women are naturally curvaceous, we continue to discriminate against them. At the just concluded Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) award show, not one plus-size woman made it to the best dressed list. Is style and best dressed list the preserve of only slim/ skinny women? We have to do better."
