- Muchinguri-Kashiri mocks the western countries saying their citizens are now indoors while their economies are suffering
The now dreaded coronavirus spreading across some continents was actually brought by God to punish Donald Trump, president of the United States, a female minister in Zimbabwe, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, has alleged.
Muchinguri-Kashiri, who is the country's defence and war veterans minister, said the virus was God's fight on behalf of Zimbabwe against the western countries which imposed sanctions on it.
Times Live reports that the minister said at the weekend: “Coronavirus is the work of God punishing countries that imposed sanctions on us."
She mocked the affected countries saying they are self-isolating themselves indoors and that their economies were seriously being affected.
"Trump should know that he is not God," the minister said.
It is noted that Zimbabwe as a country has not recorded any case since the virus started spreading.
Legit.ng had reported how a notable pastor in Nigeria, Paul Enenche, declared that coronavirus has no place in Nigeria because it will be boiled by the power of God just like Ebola was descended upon.
The senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre described the virus as something coming from the devil.
Declaring a prayer session on Sunday, March 15, Enenche said the virus cannot find success in Nigeria as it would be dealt with the way God helped to end Ebola virus before it can spread.
Legit.ng further reported how experts recently expressed fears that there could be a spread of coronavirus in Nigeria in the next few weeks.
According to the report, the experts insisted that it is inevitable to prevent the disease since Nigeria has been identified as one of the 13 countries in Africa at a high risk of being overwhelmed by the virus due to weak health sector.
At the time of the report, it was learnt that the index case of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Nigeria, a 44-year-old Italian, on Thursday, March 12, completed the 14-day isolation recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
