Odion Ighalo has hinted that he is not interested in becoming the president of Nigeria because he cannot cope with the troubles that come with politics.

The Manchester United loanee replied a fan who tipped him to take up the mantle of leadership in his country but the former Watford man gave an apt response in pidgin.

“Abeg o leave me to manage my position as Manchester United striker. I no fit Naija wahala or politics,” he replied in a tweet in Pidgin English.

The interpretation means “Please leave me to manage my position as Manchester United striker. I’m not ready for Nigeria’s problems or politics.”

The 30-year-old has been in blazing form since arriving at Old Trafford from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua scoring four goals in his first three starts for Manchester United.

Recall that the former Watford talisman who netted a total of 16 goals for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, announced his retirement after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where he emerged highest goal scorer with five goals.

However, Nigerians have been calling on the player to return to the Super Eagles squad although his relatives say he would not, citing attacks on their family after the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
