We will not campaign for offices in 2023 election - PDP

- The opposition party, PDP, says it is not preparing for any political campaigns for the 2023 general elections

- The party's scribe, Tsauri, said the opposition was so confident that it would sail smoothly to victory because the APC had failed massively

- Tsauri said the APC's failure had campaigned for the PDP across Nigeria already

The Peoples Democratic Party is so confident that it will be victorious against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023 that the opposition party has decided not to campaign for political offices in the 2023 general elections.

The Nation reports that the PDP made the declaration on Sunday, March 15 in Katsina state through its national secretary of the party, Senator Umaru Ibrahim Tsauri

‘’We are not preparing for 2023 campaigns because; Buhari has campaigned for us already by his failures. If Buhari is sincere on the fight against corruption, he should probe the past administrations from 1999 till date," Tsauri said.

A confident Tsauri told newsmen that the APC-led administration at the centre had failed so much that the PDP would have a smooth ride to victory in the elections.

While declaring that the party has already apologized to Nigerians for their past failures he assured that should the party return to power in 2023, it will repair the damages caused by APC led administration

Meanwhile, the plot to depose Adams Oshiomhole of his APC national chairmanship seat thickened as some ministers in President Muhammadu Buhari's cabinet have reportedly picked a replacement for him.

Oshiomhole has been in the eye of the storm since he was suspended by the Abuja Federal High Court from parading himself as the national chairman of the party amid growing allegations of high-handedness.

Although the former Edo governor met with President Buhari and got the backing of some top hierarchies of the party, Oshiomhole is looking destined for a disgraceful outing as ploys to remove him took a weird dimension.

In a related vein, Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma told journalists on Friday, March 13, in Owerri, the state capital that those calling for Oshiomhole’s removal would fail.

He said patriotic forces within the ruling party would not allow Oshiomhole to be humiliated out of office.
