- Hargreaves also identified Nigeria's Ndidi as one key star United must consider this summer

Former Manchester United star Owen Hargreaves has urged Ole Gunnar Solskajer to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho this summer.

The Norwegian-born tactician made some important signing during the January transfer window which has led to the transformation of the club on the Premier League table.

Though the English League is currently on a break due to the outbreak of deadly coronavirus, the Red Devils currently sit fifth on the table with 45 points - three points behind Chelsea after 29 games.

The former British-Canadian star, however, believes that the addition of the former Manchester City to United would make the team more lethal in front of goal.

Hargreaves also wants Solskjaer to sign a player who can do the same kind role Nigerian star Wilfred Ndidi is playing for Leicester City.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder has been on top of his game since he moved to England in January 2017 - winning the competition's most tackler for the straight season.

He added that the arrival of a player like Ndidi will make the partnership between Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes work in the middle of the park.

The 39-year-old told Premier League website on what United boss Solksjaer must do: “It’s not about quantity, it’s about quality,”

If you can have a Jadon Sancho – they need a right winger – Sancho playing off the right would make a huge difference.

[Jude] Bellingham is 16 or 17, he’s going to be a super player but you need someone right now.

I think they need an Ndidi type, a defensive sitter. If you have [Paul] Pogba and [Bruno] Fernandes then I think you need a defensive one there.

I think they also need a left-sided centre-back. They have [Victor] Lindelof, [Harry] Maguire, [Eric] Bailly but a left-sided centre-back would make a big difference.”

Legit.ng earlier reported that Jadon Sancho's representatives and Chelsea have begun discussions ahead of a summer move, reports in France claim.

The 19-year-old has been linked with top clubs in Europe but Manchester United and Chelsea are at the forefront for the teenage sensation.

According to French news media outlet France Football, negotiations have begun as the Stamford Bridge side look to bolster their squad for next season.
