Rilwan Oladosu to face Ghana’s Quartey for WBF international title in Nigeria

Nigerian boxer Rilwan Oladosu is set to face Ghana’s Emmanuel Quartey for the World Boxing Federation (WBF) International title at the 21st edition of GOtv Boxing Night slated to hold on Sunday, April 12, at the Indoor Sports of the National Stadium in Lagos state.

The bout is one of the six fights scheduled to hold according to the organizers of the event Flykite Productions.

Oladosu who is the West African Boxing Union (WABU) lightweight champion is unbeaten but will face a stern test from Emmanuel Quartey.

The event will also see Rilwan Babatunde, the WABU welterweight champion, face Tanzania’s Mkwalekwa Salehe for the WBF Africa title.

Hard punching Taiwo Agbaje, national featherweight champion, will go against Moses Dodzi of Ghana in an international challenge duel.

Agbaje had threatened to dump Nigeria and represent another country after Nigerian boxers failed to attend the qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, despite camping in Lagos for the event.

The qualifiers, which began on February 20 in Dakar, Senegal, ended on Saturday, February 29

Also billed for title action is Sadiq “Happy Boy” Adeleke, who will face Tunde Olojede in the national bantamweight title clash.

The bout line-up is completed by two non-title duels in the lightweight categories as Daniel Emeka slug it out against Segun Olanrewaju, while the former pairs GOtv Boxing NextGen Search graduates, Alaba Omotola and Lateef Akintola will face each other.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Onoriode Ehwarieme, Nigerian US-based boxer, needed just one minute and 60 seconds to knock out Argentine's Ariel Baracamonte on Saturday, December 28, at GOtv Boxing Night 20 as he picked up the WBF Intercontinental heavyweight title in style.

Aside from Ehwarieme, one boxer who stole the show at the event was Taiwo “Esepo” Agbaje.

Agbaje won the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy for the best boxer on the night and claimed the cash prize of N1 million after knocking out Olusegun “Embargo” Moses in a national featherweight challenge duel.
