Emir Sanusi: Veteran rapper Eedris Abdulkareem mocks Lamido Sanusi over his dethronement

On March 9, 2020, it was reported that the Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi II, has been removed from his throne by the Kano state government.

Sanusi's dethronement came after the state's council executive meeting presided over by the governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The news has rocked so many Nigerians and it has been met with mixed reactions on social media.

Veteran Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, has reacted to Sanusi’s removal as the emir of Kano.

The rapper mocked the former monarch as he spoke on how a corrupt governor who was reportedly caught on camera stuffing dollars into his babariga was able to dethrone him.

Speaking further, Eedris said that Sanusi’s dethronement is a price he had to pay for championing the cause that the former president of the country, Goodluck Jonathan, was running a corrupt government.

Eedris wrote:

“Dear Sanusi Lamido, a corrupt man caught stuffing dollars into his babariga removed you from office!

It's an unfortunate situation but this is the price you have to pay for championing the Jonathan is Corrupt cause with no evidence but propaganda.

Today, you are witnessing the real corruption! Goodluck!

He also stated that 18 years ago he met a lady who was being harassed by her lecturer and he had to warn the lecturer to stop harassing the lady identified as Bimbo Owoyemi. He added that he released Mr Lecturer after that.
