Sports minister plans to sponsor young boxers Sekina, Ayomide to become professionals

- Sports Minister Mr. Sunday Dare has made it clear that he will help promote grassroots development

- Mr. Dare is announced that he will be sponsoring young boxers Sekina and Ayomide Adeyemo as well as swimmer Fish

- The minister was moved with a video of Sekina and Ayomide that went viral on social media

Minister Youth and Sports Development Sunday Dare has taken it upon himself to sponsor two young boxers and a swimmer.

Boxing prodigies Seven-year-old Sekina and five-year-old Ayomide Adeyemo's videos went viral on social media and caught the attention of the honorable minister.

Mr. Dare whose aim is to discover new talents in the country also stumbled on a young swimmer named Fish.

The minister has always maintained that the need to catch these talents will make it easy for nurturing them to become professionals.

“Sequel to the viral video of a talented baby boy boxer on the social media page, I would be putting the baby in a boxing academy for further growth and also sponsor his education. Some financial stipends would be given for the upkeep of the lad as well,” honorable minister said after discovering Ayomide.

Ayomide is being trained by his father after school hours at their residence in Paruwa area of Lagos state where Legit TV did a video that went viral.

Meanwhile, had earlier reported that John Ogu has donated $1,000 (N350,000) for the surgery bill of female basketball player Deborah Onah who is suffering from tuberculosis of the spine, cite on Ogu's Twitter account.

It all started when Onah's basketball club Titans campaigned for people to donate for her on social media.

And a request was also sent to the Super Eagles defensive midfielder who was the least person they expected would respond. also reported that Asisat Oshoala is currently spending time back home in Lagos state but the Barcelona striker has complained about the hot weather and traffic, cited on her Twitter account.
