Kaduna killings: Senator Uba Sani donates N3m worth relief materials to victims

- Senator Uba Sani has donated relief materials worth of N3million to victims of Kaduna attacks

- Armed bandits had attacked some communities in the state and killed over 5o peoples

- The lawmaker also promised to foot the bill of all the treatment of all survivors of the attacks

Barely a few days after the killing of 51 people in two local governments of Kaduna state, the lawmaker representing Kaduna Central at the Senate, Senator Uba Sani, has donated foodstuff and other relief materials worth N3m to the affected communities.

Legit.ng reports that a media release signed by his strategic communications officer, Ibrahim Salisu Abubakaar, revealed that the affected communities that got the lawmaker's swift support were Kerawa, Maina, Rago in Igabi local government and Bokali in Giwa local government, through his constituency officers.

According to the statement, the senator also approved the payment of medical bills of some of the survivors of the bandits' attack.

"A victim of the attack whose legs were burnt by the bandits was also taken to hospital for medical care courtesy of the senator," the statement added.

Senator Sani, who is also the chairman Senate committee on banking, insurance and other financial institutions, had recently distributed relief materials, cash at the Birnin Yero refugee camp, following their displacement by bandits.

He also donated patrol vehicles to the civilian JTF in the area. This, according to the report, was followed by another donation to Wusar community in Igabi local government when measles struck and killed over 100 children within a day.

"A few weeks ago, the lawmaker also rescued victims of fire outbreak at Government Girls Secondary School Kawo, in Kaduna Metropolis with millions of naira. The principal of the school told newsmen that the relief came less than 24 hours of the pledge made by the senator.

"The lawmaker's delegation for the latest distribution of food items and other relief materials included Giwa local government chairman and other relevant stakeholders, notably all his zonal constituency officials and Igabi local government coordinator, Tanimu Jaja," the statement added.

The senator who strongly condemned the attacks, urged the communities to remain ever more vigilant and for the security agencies to redouble their efforts in stopping banditry in Kaduna state.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that following the senseless killing of some residents in Kaduna state, Senator Sani condemned the attacks as he vowed that the perpetrators would be punished.

It was reported that Uba Sani lamented that the cold-blooded murder of about 51 persons in Kaduna villages has further deepened the pain of Nigerians and reinforced the imperative and urgency of reinvigorating the security architecture in the country.

In another report, Governor Nasir El-Rufai rekindled commitment towards ending the menace of banditry in the state following a reprisal attack on some villages in Igabi and Giwa local government.
