Journalist alleges actors abandoned Pa Kasunmu when sick but celebrate him in death

- A Nigerian journalist identified as Subair Oluwatoyin has chastised Nollywood actors for abandoning late Pa Kasunmu during his ailment

- Oluwatoyin said that the veteran would not have died if help came his way earlier

- The journalist pleaded with actors to help other ailing colleagues and not wait till they are dead to be celebrated

A Nigerian journalist identified as Subair Mohammed Oluwatoyin has called out Nollywood actors for neglecting late movie veteran Olukayode Odumosu, popularly known as Pa Kasunmu, during his ailment.

The journalist took to his social media page to share his grievances about the way the late entertainer was treated while he was still alive.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the late actor passed away at the age of 66 after a long battle with liver and heart-related ailment.

But according to Oluwatoyin, Pa Kasunmu may not have died if help had come his way earlier. The aggrieved journalist recounted an experience he had with the late actor when he interviewed him in 2013.

Recalling the sad state of the veteran’s health, he said: “I cried seeing his deteriorating health condition. He was frailed. He could not walk properly. He was partially blind and had both liver and kidney problems.”

The journalist remembered being emotional during the interview, noting that the late actor cried for the most part of their discussion which lasted one hour. Oluwatoyin said that Pa Kasunmu lamented how his colleagues neglected him, including those he helped during their challenges.

“With I saw of him in 2013, I am convinced that Pa Kasumu died not as a happy man,” Oluwatoyin said.

Now that he is dead, Oluwatoyin is angry that his colleagues are showering him with encomium. Appreciating actress Foluke Daramola-Salako for her initiative in getting the poor actor a wheelchair, the journalist noted that if help had come his way earlier, he would have made it out of his ailment alive.

Noting that Pa Kasunmu is late, Oluwatoyin pleaded with actors to lend a helping hand to their colleagues who are down with one ailment or the other and stop waiting till they are dead to praise them.
