Romelu Lukaku has disclosed that the best midfielder he ever played with during his career is Manchester City maestro Kevin De Bruyne.

The former Everton of England striker revealed this while interacting with fans via his Instagram story.

Despite playing alongside World Cup winning Paul Pogba at Manchester United for two years, Lukaku said his compatriot De Bruyne is the best midfielder he has played with.

"Kevin de Bruyne. Got eyes in his back for real," he replied one of the questions thrown at him.

Although Lukaku and Pogba were good friends at the Old Trafford side during his spell, there are growing concerns that their relationship fell apart not long before the Belgian switched to Italy.

The 26-year-old had earlier explained that he informed Pogba first his decision to leave Manchester United for his remarkable £74million move to Inter during the summer

“I told him I was done,” Lukaku said in an interview with The New York Times , while also voicing his belief that he and Pogba were "blamed for Manchester United's fall".

Meanwhle, with the exit of Lulaku at Old Trafford, former Arsenal Nwankwo Kanu believes his compatriot Odion Ighalo will have a successful six-month spell at Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been short of strikers in the past few months following injuries to Marcus Rashford and selling of Romelu Lukaku as well as Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan.

And Kanu has given his verdict on the 30-year-old star who moved from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.

“Yes he can replace him (Lukaku),” Kanu told Goal. “If you watch him play, you’d find out that he is strong and can score goals.

“What he needs is the service. In this team, I am sure his game will improve because the team has great players.

“Despite playing in the Chinese league, Ighalo is not a player you would look down on and say he is not a good player. I believe in him and I know he can deliver if given the chance.

“I don’t think he will not disappoint because he will give them value for their money.”
