Manchester City attacking midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, has been named Champions League Player of the Week by UEFA after helping the Citizens seal a stunning comeback against Real Madrid.

The Belgian was instrumental to Pep Guardiola's daring exploit at Bernabeu Stadium on Tuesday night with his late stunner handing City a huge advantage ahead of the second leg of the Round 16 tie.

The Citizens side got the game started on high note but De Bruyne's messianic presence was all they needed to break the parity and secure a three-point win against the Spanish giants.

Pep Guardiola's side looked destined for another defeat after Isco fired Real past their visitors through a second-half strike which came in the 60th minute.

Gabriel Jesus was close to scoring the third goal but was fouled by Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos who will now miss the second leg tie in three weeks time at the Eithad Stadium.
