Timo Werner is ready to snub Man United and Barcelona for Liverpool to activate his £52million release clause with RB Leipzig.

According to the Athletic, the German striker is ready to wait for the Merseyside club to make an approach.

The 23-year-old have been linked with top European sides following his consistent form for the Bundesliga club in the last four years.

He has already scored 21 goals in 23 appearances this season and will be available for just £51million at the end of the season.

It is understood Werner's release clause is valid until April 2020, which means intending clubs will pay more for the Germany international.

And reports claim Liverpool will approach the striker if they decide in making the move for Werner.

Brazilian pair Fabinho and Alisson were approach in the month of March before completing the move for the Monaco and Roma players respectively.

But according to Transfermarkt journalist Nicolò Schira, The Reds have already been in contact with Werner and have offered him a bumper deal until 2025.
